Sports

I have been practicing judo for over 11 years at Worcester Judo and currently have a brown belt in the sport. Judo has also taught me many valuable lessons over the years that I’ve been able to apply not only in the sport but also in my life. I’ve learned lessons like staying calm under stress and getting rid of any ego to be able to learn from others. I started MMA a few months ago to allow me to take my martial arts further, as well as learn lessons in relation to self-defense. However, I have found the two to be very interconnected, with many judo throws being able to be used as takedowns in MMA and many submissions in MMA usable in judo.

In the winter, I also enjoy skiing in resorts such as Wachusett Mountain, Sunday River, and most recently Les Trois Vallées. Skiing is not only a fun way to spend my time in the winter when most sports are limited, but it also provides a great source of physical health and conditioning. However, the benefits aren’t limited to physical, skiing also teaches me lessons like always getting up after I fall and being prepared in life, as conditions on the slopes change often.
